Victoria RificiWeekend Kwinana Courier

TWO friends have made a courageous decision to chop off their long, luscious locks in an effort to raise $500 for Cystic Fibrosis WA.

Baldivis residents Tayla Cartledge (11) and Matilda Siddle (6) will donate the money to a cause close to both their hearts – they have friends who suffer from cystic fibrosis.

Both girls will also give away their hair to the Australia Alopecia Foundation.

Tayla’s mother Megan Bant said the girls’ hair will be made into wigs for kids.

“The girls were all for it – there was no hesitation from either of them,” she said.

They have already raised $265 for Cystic Fibrosis WA with the help of donations from family and friends.

Tayla and Matilda will cut their hair on August 25 at the Kwinana Hockey Club.

They will also have a raffle on the day with prizes donated by various businesses in Baldivis.
