Two in custody following Kwinana car chase

TWO men are in custody after a car chase through Kwinana this morning.

Around 8am, police were patrolling the area when they saw a Holden Commodore with false plates travelling along Wellard Road.

They allege the car failed to stop when requested and continued along Meares Avenue before entering a Kwinana shopping centre car park.

While in the car park, the car was damaged after hitting a kerb while driving at speed.

Police claim the car continued through various streets in Kwinana and on one occasion, narrowly missed a cyclist, causing him to fall off his bike onto the verge.

Damage caused the car to stop on Nottingham Parkway and the two occupants were arrested without incident.

A 40-year-old man of Medina was charged with aggravated fail to stop, reckless driving and having no authority to drive. He will appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on February 14.

A 31-year-old man of Orelia was charged with permit vehicle with forged or replica plate to be driven on a road and will appear in court at a later date.
