ROCKINGHAM Detectives have charged two people in relation to an armed robbery in Shoalwater on Thursday, July 21.
A male person entered a pharmacy on Safety Bay Road at about 5.50pm and it will be alleged he took several items before fleeing. A second male person joined him and they ran through the car park of a shopping centre.
A staff member from the pharmacy chased them. When he caught up with them it will be further alleged one of the males attempted to spray him with pepper spray, however his attempt was not successful. The second male then threatened the staff member with a knife.
As a result of information from the public, two persons of interest were identified.
Police searched a house in Safety Bay and two people were taken into custody on Friday .
A 24-year-old man from Safety Bay and a 17-year-old boy from Warnbro were both charged with aggravated armed robbery. They were both refused bail and are due in court at a later date.
