RESIDENTS living near Bertram Primary School are being urged to report any suspicious activity after the school was vandalised two weekends in a row.
About a fortnight ago a wheelie bin was set on fire and the siren deck bent, but damage was extensive last weekend when the exterior of the school was targeted.
Principal Geoff Hood said a fibreglass cow was removed, some classroom windows were smashed and the greenhouse and gardens were trashed.
The windows were quickly repaired and Department of Education security personnel attended the incident but on Monday those responsible were yet to be identified.
“We’ve had lots of reports of kids on rooves,” Mr Hood said.
He described the vandalism as consisting of “irritating, small things”.
“These things seem to go in phases and we try and alert the community to report incidents.”
Suspicious activity should be reported to Education Security on 9264 4771 or the police on 131 444.
