VINNIES Port Kennedy is spreading the love with a special Valentine’s Day themed shopping experience.

Vinnies shop manager June Gouldthorp said a chance donation of a collection of wedding decorations was the inspiration for the wedding themed Valentine’s Day display.

“The enthusiastic team of volunteers had a lot of fun assembling a wedding table display for the bride and groom, along with a fun window display,” she said.

“Rozanne Baker, a volunteer at Vinnies Port Kennedy, even organised a display wedding cake, which was kindly loaned by local cake supplier Cake-o-licious.

“The team of volunteers are the backbone of Vinnies Port Kennedy shop and we are keen to get more volunteers in store.

“We need volunteers to help out with customer service, ringing up sales through the register and general merchandising.”

Volunteers are trained in all areas of working in a retail environment including register operation, customer service, sorting, pricing donations and merchandising.

“Vinnies shops provide more than a retail opportunity, they are pivotal in providing welfare support to people who are doing it tough,” Ms Gouldthorp said.

Profits from the sale of all goods go directly towards Emergency Relief Assistance as well funding support services for the local community.
