WAIKIKI resident Phil Piggott’s pet peeve is lights not working adequately around town.

He has contacted many organisations about faulty lighting in the community and his latest quest is to improve the lighting in the carpark in the Safety Bay Road business precinct in Baldivis.

Mr Piggott has been complaining about the lighting, particularly outside Petstock and Masters, for more than a year.

“The lights go on too late and haphazardly,” he said.

“The lights come on long after sunset and sometimes it’s pitch black.

“It is a security and safety issue.”

Mr Piggott said he had called around to all of the surrounding businesses complaining about the carpark lighting.

Developer Pride Projects director Malcolm Purcell declined to comment.
