WAIKIKI resident Joanne Jackson had to leave her job due to health reasons last year.

Since then she has volunteered at the Animal Welfare Op Shop in Rockingham and loves it.

“I’ve volunteered here for about eight months because I really believe in what my boss is doing to help animals,” she said.

Money raised at the op shop go towards desexing and microchipping dogs and cats for people on a pension or Healthcare Card holders.

Ms Jackson volunteers at the store three days a week and is now the supervisor.

Her role involves sorting and pricing items and working behind the register.

The Animal Welfare Op Shop are looking for more volunteers. Call 6396 15374.
