Waikiki: weapons and guns seized from Brothers 4 Life gang members

Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

A HOUSE in Waikiki has been raided by the Gang Crime Squad and weapons and drugs seized during investigations into the activities of members of the Brothers 4 Life street gang.

In the past fortnight, officers have executed nine search warrants at properties linked to suspected gang members and associates as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the activities of street gangs.

“This operation has also been motivated by concerns over alleged offending and anti-social behaviour by members,” Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Blaine said.

The search warrants resulted in seven Brothers 4 Life members being charged over 27 offences related to illicit drugs, assaults, weapons and firearms.

Police seized 15 firearms, in addition to quantities of methylamphetamine, cannabis, cocaine, steroids and other drug materials at the Waikiki home on Wednesday.

“Our officers continue to work with other State Government departments and law enforcement agencies to achieve these results for the community,” Sgt Blaine said.
