MARGO Armstrong and Elaine Stacey were among a group of volunteer camp hosts on Rottnest Island who have been making visitors feel at home during the Island’s busy period.
The pair, volunteers with the Rottnest Volunteer Guides Association, ensures guests have everything they need and that all the facilities are in good working order.
“We do checks to make sure there’s no blocked toilets, that everything is working in the kitchen and we just make sure everyone feels welcome,” Elaine said.
“If there’s any problems we can sort it out.”
Camp hosts were in place for the summer holidays last year and this year ran through until April.
“Yesterday we had four senior schools here… there were a lot of people,” Elaine said.
“It shows how well used the grounds are.”
