Wandi bushfire

A BUSHFIRE advice has been issued for the western part of Wandi in the City of Kwinana, where about 15ha has been burnt.

The advice is for people in the area bounded by Rowley Road, De Haer Road and Lyon Road.

The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as the fire is contained and under control.

There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.

Although there is no immediate danger, residents need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.

What to do:

* Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.

* Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.

* Read through your bushfire survival plan.

* Decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.

The danger has passed but residents need to remain vigilant in case the situation changes.

Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site.

Horseshoe Road is closed and speed restrictions are in place on other roads in the area.
