THE RSPCA are investigating an incident that left a Wandi pet fighting for life after being shot on Wednesday afternoon.

Hunter, a bullmastiff cross boxer, was found in a pool of his own blood by the front door of the family home.

Initially it was thought a horse had kicked Hunter but after being taken to the vet, his family was advised he had in fact been shot in the right cheek with the bullet becoming lodged in the left side of his neck.

Michelle Radis, Hunter’s owner, has started a GoFundMe to help cover his vet treatment, which has so far come to around $3000.

However, the family could be forced to fork out more with x-rays showing bullet fragments in Hunter’s leg.

He is currently at home resting after the ordeal.

The RSPCA has been contacted for comment.
