Warnbro Bowls Club set for crackerjack year after grant for green covers

Gabrielle JefferyWeekend Kwinana Courier

IT IS set to be a crackerjack year for members of the Warnbro Bowls Club after securing a grant for new green covers allowing year-round play.

Brand MP Madeleine King was on hand at the club to deliver the good news that they were successful recipients of a $20,000 grant from the Stronger Communities Programme for assistance in building roof covers over two playing greens.

Club members can now play regardless of the weather – but it won’t protect you from potatoes!

Ms King said she was delighted to help the club with its request.

“These new covers will offer both shade from the sun and protection from the rain, allowing more people to enjoy playing bowls more often,” she said.

“I am very pleased to have supported this great project which benefits this fantastic club and the many people who play bowls in Warnbro.”

Warnbro Bowling Club deputy president Bill Baker thanked Ms King for her continued support of the club.
