Warnbro man charged with theft over missing fire truck

A 30-year-old Warnbro man has been charged with stealing over the disappearance of a fire truck.

The vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser ute, went missing in the early hours of Sunday morning near Pemberton.

It was then allegedly used in a fuel drive-off in Preston Beach on Tuesday, with police releasing images of two men wanted for questioning.

Based on information provided by the public the two people pictured in the CCTV images from the fuel drive-off incident have been identified.

One of the men, a 30-year-old from Warnbro, was found in the Perth metro area and he has been charged with possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and stealing a motor vehicle.

He has also been charged with having no authority to drive and possession of cannabis and methylamphetamine.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today.
