POLICE have found a vehicle of interest and are trying to find the driver after a hit and run crash in Warnbro on Friday .

Police said a Honda motorcycle and another vehicle crashed at the intersection of Warnbro Sound Avenue and Okehampton Road at about 6.45pm.

The motorcycle rider received serious injuries and was taken to hospital by St John Ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene.

Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a mid 1990s green hatchback, similar to a Ford Festiva. The left side of the vehicle was damaged, including panel damage and a broken window. The vehicle had distinctive paintwork/decals.

Acting on information from the public, officers attended a house in Knowle Way, Warnbro last night . A green 1997 Ford Festiva had extensive damage consistent with the crash. The vehicle was seized and will be forensically examined.

Police thanked the member of the public who provided the information to Crime Stoppers.
