Mrs Dickson said if her son, a Year 1 at Safety Bay Primary School, could raise awareness for the cause, others could too.

“We had a party for him at home on Friday night where we shaved not just Alex’s hair but his uncles, cousin and Dad joined in too to support him,” she said.

“It was a great night.”
