HOMEBUYERS don’t have to spend big to live large in Perth’s southern suburbs, where solid brick homes on larger blocks can be snapped up for less than $300,000.
According to the Real Estate Institute of Australia and Adelaide Bank’s Housing Affordability Report on the September quarter 2017, first-home buyers made up 36.2 per cent of the market.
In the same report it was stated the portion of household income required to meet mortgage payments dropped from 23.6 per cent to 22.4 per cent, from June to September, putting first time buyers in a good position.
