WHEN finding a location for their first home, young chefs Emily and Jay Lesina knew they wanted to be close to family.
The couple, who met in the kitchen seven years ago and have a one-year-old son Cooper, were also looking to buy in a family-friendly area with good access to parks, shops, transport and schools.
They chose Peet’s Greenlea Baldivis 35 minutes from the Perth CBD.
“I work in Northbridge at Torre Butchers and Jay works at the Blue Duck in Cottesloe, so to be close to the train and the freeway is really handy,” Mrs Lesina said.
“Greenlea will have a lot of green areas – there’s going to be an oval and a park close to us, as well as tennis courts and we’re only two minutes away from Spudshed.
“Having a young boy, it’s going to be great as we won’t have to go far to get outdoors and do things.
“There are also plenty of day cares and schools in the area which will be really good for us as Cooper gets older.
“It’s awesome that we’ll be able to stay local for everything we need.”
The Lesinas’ new home is being built with Easy Start Homes on a 359sq m block.
“We’re building a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a theatre,” Mrs Lesina said.
“Jay loves his gaming, so to have a room for all of his stuff will be great.
“Both being chefs, cooking is also really important to us so we’ve upgraded lots of the appliances and features of the kitchen and put extra effort into the living-dining area.”
Homebuyers have a limited time opportunity to save up to $16,500 on select home sites at the community.
