BLACKBURNE’S Azure Beachside Apartment project is complete with residents set to move in.

Managing director Paul Blackburne said the luxury boutique development on the corner of Flinders Lane and Empress Corner had proved very popular with local buyers and owner occupiers in particular.

“Over 80 per cent of buyers have come from within a 10km radius of the project and the majority are owner occupiers – Azure has one of the highest proportion of owner occupiers across all our projects,” he said.

“We have numerous buyers who have downsized from houses within the area that don’t want to live right on the beach, but rather within walking distance.”

Blackburne is known for building in excellent locations and Azure is 300m from the Rockingham foreshore and opposite the Anzac Park and many of the apartments have spectacular ocean and park views.

It is in walking distance of some of Rockingham’s best bars, restaurants and shops and close to public transport, including the train line to Perth and main bus stops.

The location has also appealed to investors and Mr Blackburne said Azure had the potential for strong capital growth and rental yields.

“We have a buyer who bought two investment properties in Azure as they too believe that Rockingham is undervalued and we will continue to see growth, especially with the new infrastructure such as the beach front renewal program,” he said.

Interest in the 51-apartment project has increased since completion, with enquiries up by 50 per cent according to Mr Blackburne.

“Over 60 per cent of the apartments sold off the plan and we expect the remaining apartments to sell quickly,” he said.

“We have seen a fairly even spread of sales across all the one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

“Feedback from buyers is that they haven’t seen this level of quality and design delivered in Rockingham and for a lot of them, Azure was an easy decision.”

Designed by DMG, the company behind Blackburne’s Oracle and Cove projects, Azure has large apartments to suit owner occupiers, a nautical/coastal theme with rope features and washed timber-look tiles in the foyer, imported copper-look Italian tiles in the entry, and decorative cladding to provide visual appeal and privacy.

It will be open for viewing on February 23 and 24 from 10am – 1pm and potential buyers will be able to see a selection of apartments along with the level one resort-style common facilities including a heated swimming pool, alfresco dining area with barbecue and sun lounges.

Prices on the remaining residences start from $399,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, $449,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and $599,000 for a three-bedroom apartment.
