Bowls Safety Bay’s Annual Spring Carnival taken out by Merredin

THE start of the Bowls Safety Bay Annual Spring Carnival was on the weekend .

About 42 teams from as far away as Denmark, Albany, Mullewa and Merredin took part.

Competition was tough with teams vying for a share of the prize money.

The Merredin team won the big prize.

They polled 15 points.

Safety Bay new bowler Rob Parr filled in on the winning team and had never played competitive bowls before.

The Darkan team won second place with 13 points.

The young Safety Bay team came third.
