Boyles strike took his season tally to 12 goals in Division Two.
Blustery and wintery conditions made it hard for City to play their usual passing game.
No change to the weather in the second half prompted a change in tactics from City, who started passing the ball along the ground and it soon reaped rewards when Boyle opened the scoring just five minutes after the restart. Soon a second goal was scored and David Clark made it 3-0.
Alex Grayson scored his second and Citys fourth after Papa Kpatar went on one of his creative runs and crossed for the forward to head home.
City maintains a one-point lead at the top of the ladder with six matches remaining.
