Dan Abel’s bowling spell devastated the Mandurah batsmen.

Abel took the incredible figures of 10-5 in a Peel Cricket Association C grade match against Mandurah Cricket Club just before Christmas.

The pace bowler now has the best bowling figures of any player nationwide this season and is the only player to take 10 wickets in an innings in club cricket so far this summer.

Shoalwater bowled Mandurah out for just 19 in 15.5 overs, then posting 9-263 off its 45 overs.

Abel not only bagged all 10 wickets but took a hat-trick during his 7.5 overs, three of which were maidens.

His hitherto best figures were 5-24 in 2011/12 season.

Peel game development officer Aimee White said after his fifth over the Shoalwater captain asked Abel about finishing his spell. ‘Dan turned to the skipper and joked that he could take 10,’ she said.

‘The next over he took a hat-trick and the final two wickets.’
