WHEN it comes to darts, Tyler Sutherland is on point.

The Port Kennedy 17-year-old is the new National Champion after he took out the Junior Australian Singles.

He was in Tasmania competing in the Under-18 Championships of Darts with the Western Australian Dart Team.

Tyler also came second in the Roy Christopher category, equal third in the boys doubles and second in the mixed doubles.

The talented teenager has been playing darts since he was 12 years old.

His whole family is involved in darts.

Tyler is following in his grandmother Robyn McCoy’s footsteps because she was also a darts national champion.

In the lead-up to the nationals Tyler practiced two-to-three hours a day and played competitively on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

This year Tyler will be attending Rockingham Tafe.
