FREDERICK Irwin Anglican School student Caitlin Eynon has been selected to represent WA at the open women’s National Baseball Championships in April.

The Year Nine student has also been accepted into the Emeralds Futures program, from which squad players are selected to represent Australia.

Caitlin said it was a huge honour and privilege to be selected to represent WA.

“My ultimate goal is to play for Australia at a World Cup or represent Australia at the Olympics.

She trains three times a week at Baseball Park in Gosnells and also plays up to four, two-hour games on weekends.

During her days off she likes to practise pitching and batting at home.
