Harriers win a swag of medals

The club’s medal haul included four gold, four silver and two bronze, with Jesse Rodgers winning gold in the men’s under-17 2km steeple chase and a bronze in the under-17 3km.

Other gold medallists included Mark Midgley, who won gold in the men’s under-20 800m and silver in the 1500m, Kirsty Morrison who won gold in the women’s under-20 800m and Josh Baker who won gold in the men’s under-16 steeple chase and bronze in the 3km.

Josh Ellis attained silver in the men’s under-17 800m, Matthew Ramsden won silver in the men’s under-20 5km and Hayley Teasdale won silver in the women’s under-15 2km steeple chase, while Samson Junior Makumbe and Darryl Ellis also medalled in their events.

Coach Shane Ellis said he was proud of the way his entire team performed and said many of the athletes would now set their sights on the Australian Juniors in March.
