McPherson scored 11.34 from his two rides, but fell short of Moses Le Grice’s winning score of 15.84.

He wasn’t the only resident to perform well with Nick Black finishing fourth in the over 35 men’s category.

It comes after the event was moved from Gas Bay to Big Rock in Gracetown after the former served up little to no contestable surf.
