Hopman Cup on show at Bertram Primary School

BERTRAM Primary School student Yajat Sharma was excited to hold the internationally contested Mastercard Hopman Cup.

The Hopman Cup Trophy was on show at the school in celebration of the school’s court resurfacing project.

The resurfacing of the multi-purpose, eight Hot Shot tennis courts was made possible by an $8000 grant from Tennis Australia under the National Court Rebate (NCR) scheme.

There was also fundraising from the school community, local business support and a $2000 donation from the local Coles store through the Coles Community Challenge.

Tennis fanatic Yajat (12) said since holding the Hopman Cup trophy, he dreams of one day meeting world number one Novak Djokovic, alongside other legends of the game Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
