More than 800 competitors from 19 clubs from across the State competed at the championships for under-11 to under-14s, with Secret Harbour’s tally of 126.5 championship points placing them sixth, an improvement on last year’s 10th place finish.

Many of the club’s future lifesavers qualified for finals in their events against the rest of WA’s best juniors, with under-14 male competitor Christopher Collins collecting the club’s only gold medal in the beach flags.

He also placed fifth in the board race and fourth in board rescue with Ewan Fletcher.

Breanna Bird, Brooke Poad and Jaidey Booth placed fourth in the under-14 girls board relay, Fletcher, Collins, Liam Bates and Sam McGovern finished fourth in the under-14 male surf teams race, and Stephanie Lowe, Tahlia Wyburd and Chloe Dowbnia placed fifth in the under-12 female board relay.
