In the series, more than 60 beach volleyball teams (six a side) participated in about 300 games in teams of men’s, women’s, mixed and over-35s men’s and women’s, representing volleyball centres from across WA.

Overall winners on the day were Malaga and Canning Vale, with the best performing team from Mandurah being the over-35s women’s team, well on their way to being top four contenders again. The next round of super league is in Joondalup on May 23.

The Mandurah club has been invited to enter five teams in the Indoor Beach Volleyball National Titles in Fremantle in October. The Mandurah teams will represent WA in the men’s, women’s, mixed, over-35s and over-45s competitions. Those intending to play need to nominate before June 30.

– The 2014 South West Indoor Cricket Challenge involved teams representing Mandurah, Busselton and Port Kennedy.

Each town entered two teams in separate divisions, with the top team from each division playing for the title of South West Champions.

The 18/18 competition resulted in some close games and hard work from each player. It came down to a recount to determine who would enter the grand final, which resulted in a Mandurah versus Mandurah showdown.

Both teams put on a great display of sportsmanship and talent, but Rusty Rhinos defeated the Raiders in a close call match to claim the title.
