Marathon to test club’s students

John Dobson, Weekend CourierWeekend Kwinana Courier

The marathon is at Girl Guides Hall at Wilson Park in Safety Bay and it is hoped to raise enough money to send 38 students to the championships.

The gruelling effort will feature 24 one-hour blocks with trainers also holding classes for beginners to introduce them to the sport.

Senior instructor Mark Ingle said there were some very talented karate fighters in Rockingham. ‘They have been working very hard all year and this 24-hour marathon will really test some of their limits,’ he said.

‘It’s going to be great preparation for the upcoming tournament and hopefully we can raise lots of money towards the trip.’
