The Rockingham Flames men’s team suffered a narrow loss against reigning champions, the Joondalup Wolves.

It started with a bang for the defending WSBL Champions, beating Joondalup Wolves 109-108 courtesy of Sami Whitcomb’s three with just seconds remaining.

The three-time competition MVP was instrumental in the victory as the Flames rebounded from a first round loss to Willetton.

The men’s game also went down to the wire, but this time the Flames were on the wrong end of the result, falling to the Wolves by seven.

It was more of the same on Easter Monday for the women as they trounced East Perth by 33 points.

The men also returned to winning ways, claiming a nine-point victory over the Eagles.

Next up for the Flames are the Cockburn Cougars on Saturday at Mike Barnett before travelling to the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Sunday.
