Declan ByrneWeekend Kwinana Courier

IT was a mixed weekend for the northern Peel Football League sides, with Baldivis maintaining its unbeaten start while Rockingham fell to Waroona at home.

Waroona ground out a tough 15-point win over Rockingham at Anniversary Park, despite trailing at halftime.

Adam Clancy grabbed three for the Demons, while Lance Lucas and Courtney Lakay also showed their class.

Cody Scnaars and skipper Rocky Collins put up a fight for the Rams, but it was not enough as Waroona claimed the 7.11 (53) to 5.8 (38) win.

In Mundijong, Baldivis continued on its merry way, holding off Mundijong to win by 17 points 12.11 (83) to 10.6 (66).

Robert Young booted five for the Brumbies, while Callum Black and Emmanuel Collard were also impressive.

South Mandurah overcame a sluggish first quarter to down Pinjarra by 25 points at Falcon Oval.

The Falcons went goalless in the first term before Joshua Scarlett got them on the board at the start of the second term.

From there, Souths put their foot down, turning a 16-point deficit into a 15-point lead at halftime.

Pinjarra’s accuracy would cost them, despite the best efforts of Matthew Bee and Mitchell Green.

Zak Vergone and Brendon Jones were again influential, while John Bennell bagged four goals in the 9.11 (65) to 4.16 (40) win.

Meanwhile the misery continued for Mandurah Mustangs as Halls Head ran out 78-point victors.

At Rushton Park, Halls Head had cruise control on after quarter-time against the Mustangs.

Joel Houghton kicked six and Lawrence Collard five in the 23.13 (151) to 10.13 (73) win.

Chad Humble was impressive for the visitors, while Sydney Hart and Zac Podmore offered some resistance for Mandurah.

Next week, Mandurah will host Rockingham on Saturday, while on Sunday Pinjarra travel to Baldivis, Halls Head take on Centrals and South Mandurah clash with Waroona.
