All Australian Women’s Aussie Rules player Chloe Taylor, of Warnbro, plays for the Thunderbirds.

She was a basketball player before she began playing WAWFL at 16.

Taylor has been the youth girl’s runner up and best and fairest, but finds it hard to talk about her achievements.

‘I didn’t play AFL until I went to school, but I always watched it with my dad,’ she said.

‘It’s really good bonding and more social, it’s a good sport and good to meet new friends.’

Pinjarra’s Jodi Dunlop is one of the Peel Thunderbirds’ newest recruits and loves giving the boys a run for their money.

After playing polocross, basketball and netball, she decided to try WAWFL.

‘Playing is fantastic and it’s been one of the easiest team sports to play,’ she said. ‘Netball and basketball can be very individual, but here the better you are, the more the team cheer you on.’
