Port Kennedy Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan representatives selected for Australian teams

A PORT Kennedy Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan master instructor and two pupils have been selected to represent Australia at two international events later this month.

Anita Tippet was selected as an Australian coach for the junior world championships and the Oceania championships being held in Canada and Fiji.

Rodney Hartmann (16) will be competing in the 55-59 kg division after winning three gruelling matches to become the Australian champion in that class.

He has been involved in the sport for more than 12 years and is passionate about representing his country.

He will be competing in Burnaby, Canada at the junior world championships from November 16-20 before travelling to Suva to take part in the Oceania Championships.

Joining him there will be Alana Broomer (14), competing in the cadet 59 kg and over division from November 26-28.

Tippet obtained her spot in the national squad after winning two matches and a gold medal at the national championships last month.

Tippet said Rodney and Alana had worked very hard to earn their opportunity to represent Australia.
