Port Kennedy Taekwondo team claims haul of medals at Perth Open

YOUNG Port Kennedy Taekwondo fighters won 13 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals at the Perth Open taekwondo championships in Belmont.

Thirty competitors from the Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan Port Kennedy Dojang took part in full contact fighting and poomsae divisions.

Master instructor Anita Tippet said she was extremely happy with the athletes’ performance.

“They competed in three divisions and our fighters won their matches and met each other in the finals,” she said.

The club won best overall sparring and poomsae divisions.

First place black belt winners; Tiala Skey, Rodney Hartmann, Taj Barbour.

Red belts; Ava Dolan (2), Mia Dolan, Cameron Griggs.

Blue belts Adam Deacon, Caiden Dolan, Gisele Wilson, Armand Nel, Noah Williamson-Coucher.

Yellow belt; Dylan Harper.
