Rockingham girls compete at basketball championships in Darwin

TWO local girls are showcasing their basketball skills in the Northern Territory this week.

Isabelle Classon, of Warnbro, and Jesni Cooper, of Baldivis, are competing in the School Sport Basketball Championships from August 10 to 18.

Isabelle (18) is the team captain and has been playing basketball for 11 years.

The Kolbe Catholic College student has been playing in the State Baskeball League and hopes to get a scholarship at a US college.

Jesni (16) has been playing basketball for 10 years and is in the specialist sports program at Willeton Senior High School.

She is contracted to the Rockingham Flames and also hopes to get a scholarship at a US college. Jesni’s goal is to play basketball for Australia.

The aim of School Sport WA is to promote, organise and coordinate sporting competitions for students at local, regional and interstate level.
