Rugby Union: Rockingham smashes Perth Irish by 62 points

ROCKINGHAM Rugby Union Club has continued its strong 2016 form, smashing Perth Irish by 62-points on Saturday.

Dean Tyrrell crossed four times in the 68-6 triumph at Lark Hill, while Jayden Briggs bagged two tries in the romp.

Adam Brick, Joshua Hanson, Bodie Etheredge and Joseph Briggs also crossed for the home side.

The result leaves Rockingham sitting pretty at the top of the Championship A grade ladder after five rounds.

B grade were also in the winners circle, downing the Irish 25-0 to improve to fourth on the ladder with a 2-3 record.

Colts were the only team not to secure a point as they fell to Perth Bayswater 21-10 at Pat O’Hara Reserve.

The result means Colts slip to 2-3 to sit in eighth place.

This week the A grade side will host Swan Suburbs while B grade will enjoy a week off.

The Colts will welcome third place Joondalup to Lark Hill for promises to be a tough clash.
