Stoke City International Camp great opportunity for kids

THE Stoke City International Camp was held in Singleton on July 11 to 13.

Stoke City were founding members of the English Football League.

Junior coach and Rockingham United FC Masters player Nathan Jones said it was a coup to get Stoke City FC coaches to Australia and the local area.

“It was a great opportunity for local children,” he said.

“I worked hard on getting them to the area as I’ve coached in the area and knew people would embrace it.

“We have a variety of kids coming and also kids coming from different areas to attend the camp.

“We have kids coming who play as far as ECU Joondalup, Cockburn, Gosnells and Mandurah.

“To sell out the camp is brilliant and shows how strong and popular soccer is in the region.”

Leeming Strikers player coach David Palin said he hopes the camp will become an annual event.
