Huge waves hammered Avalon Point's famous left-hand point break, creating perfect 4-6 foot waves which were particularly suited to longboard riding.

Secret Harbour surfer Ryan Egan finished fourth overall in the open men's category, despite eventual winner Justin Redman, from Yallingup, breaking two boards in the powerful surf.

Egan finished on 10.75 points (out of 20), to finish behind Redman (16.75), Jack Medland (from Marmion on 11.75 points) and Gabbadah surfer Scott Trew (11 points).
