Thunderbirds look forward to another good season

Leigh ElderWeekend Kwinana Courier

Thunderbirds have 14 new players this year, with the majority having claims for the League squad, which suggests they will have much stronger depth, with sights set on yet another finals campaign.

It won’t be all smooth sailing, as the club looks likely to have seven players in the State Under-18s squad, with a third of the starting 18 out for the critical fifth and sixth- round games against South and East Fremantle, also vying for finals positions.

The club has taken another leap forward with the introduction of a third side that will participate in the newly formed WAWFL Youth Girls competition for players aged 13-16.

The Thunderbirds are also likely to have their first senior State squad player this year, showing the young list is developing fast. Announcements on these State squads will be made in coming weeks.
