Tijay plans to travel world playing sport

The 10-year-old recently returned from a trip to Dubai and Hong Kong, where he represented WA in an international baseball competition.

Tijay plays for the Rockingham Rams and after only a few months in the sport had competitors and spectators talking about his potential.

The WA Baseball minors team finished in third place after an impressive turnout from teams around the world.

Tijay’s mother Carmen said her son was over the moon when he found out about his selection for the team.

‘He was very excited to represent the State and he was on cloud nine for several weeks leading up to the competition,’ she said.

‘It was overwhelming seeing Tijay playing baseball in a different country.’

Tijay started playing tee-ball in Secret Harbour but joined the local baseball team to learn something different.

When he is not playing baseball, Tijay likes to play rugby.

He dreams of one day becoming an international athlete travelling the world playing sport.
