Top young golfer looks for sponsor

The 23-year-old from Rockingham Golf Club already has won a number of tournaments, including the Rockingham Bowl and Kwinana Cup in 2010.

He was selected for the WA state squad in 2012 and is currently ranked 109th in Australia.

‘My sole objective is to become a professional golfer,’ he said.

‘In 2014, I plan to join the OPGA of Australia Tour School and in 2015 I will attend the Asian Tour School.’

‘I am extremely loyal and looking for a long term relationship with a company prepared to support me to the same extent and achieve set goals together.’

Spooner lives and breathes the sport, having started an apprenticeship at Secret Harbour Golf Club before moving to prestigious Cottesloe Golf Club. Now Spooner is a qualified green keeper at Secret Harbour.

Spooner said he was aware of the sacrifices he needed to make to become an elite professional.

‘I will endure disappointments, setbacks and frustration,’ he said.

‘However, I will gladly endure all these because I believe that I will become a professional golfer.

‘I am seeking a sponsor who will join me on my journey.’
