Darryl King (41), of Baldivis, and Tony Jeanes (31), of Warnbro, bagged gold and silver respectively in the 79kg Masters competition in Sydney.

The pair won through the grand final but did not fight, instead honouring a club tradition of giving gold to the senior fighter.

While King has been training for about 18 months, Jeanes is incredibly only five months into training.

Jaye Sarcich (15) made it a trio of good results for the club by winning the male juveniles over 70kg.

The pair said it was extremely hard work to compete in the sport.

‘Many people think its all just excitement like the UFC but there is a lot of hard work and constant training,’ Jeanes said.

‘We train up to seven hours a week, day and night sessions,’ King said.
