Shepherd (18), who has represented WA in five of the last six State schoolgirl squads, said the move was a dream come true.
“Playing soccer in America has always been my lifelong dream for as long as I can remember,” she said.
“It feels a big move and I have many emotions about the move. Although I’m very sad to be leaving my friends and family behind, I’m also extremely excited to start this amazing new adventure.”
As well as moving to America, Shepherd has been selected to represent the Australian schoolgirls team and graduated from the renowned soccer excellence program at John Curtin in Fremantle.
She says she owes her success to those around her, including her coaches and friends, but especially her family.
