The brothers were on Western Warriors duty but may return home in time to pad up for their club following the Warriors’ exit from the Matador Cup.

The Mariners will be buoyed ahead of this weekend’s back-to-back clashes against champions Joondalup on Saturday and Fremantle on Sunday after knocking off Midland-Guildford by 57 runs last Saturday.

Sent in after losing the toss, the Mariners lost Tyler Robertson and Josh Smith with just 11 runs on the board, before skipper Craig Simmons and Brayden Sutton steadied the ship.

Dane Ugle was the last man to fall as the Mariners registered a formidable 8/246 from their 50 overs.

Midland-Guilford openers Dominic Sibley and Tim Hutchison put on 41 for the first wicket. However it was the only resistance they put up, as wickets fell regularly, with teenaged leg spinner Kyle Gardiner and Simmons claiming three wickets apiece.

Second grade fell to an agonising one-wicket loss, while third grade pulled off a remarkable four-run win and fourth grade lost by 66 runs.

Rockingham-Mandurah v Fremantle play starts Sunday at 10.30am at Lark Hill.
