Army personnel practice parachuting into ocean off Iluka

Laura PondJoondalup Times

ARMY personnel were seen jumping from an aircraft off the coast of Iluka last week.

Greenwood resident Andrew Shaw was volunteering with an environmental group at the Iluka foreshore when he snapped images of the parachutists.

They were diving from a C-130 Hercules aircraft into the ocean as part of re-qualification tests.

More army aircraft were spotted on Friday, with Times readers reporting seeing Black Hawk helicopters in Joondalup.
