Success on the menu for northern suburbs venues at Hospitality Awards for Excellence

NORTHERN suburbs venues have scooped several awards at this year’s Hospitality Awards for Excellence run by the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) WA.

The Marina Mindarie won awards for best outdoor area and best hospitality venue, with employee Kelly Barranger winning the best front of office and administration award on November 13.

The Greenwood Hotel’s Ryan Fraser and Mark Bingley won the best food and beverage services employee and rising star awards respectively.

The Breakwater at Hillarys was the best responsible service of alcohol winner and a joint winner for best conference and functions with Aloft Perth in Rivervale.

The Endeavour Tavern in Lancelin won the best community service venue award and Currambine Bar and Bistro received the award for the best casual pub dining in the metropolitan area.

The Botanica Bar and Bistro in Innaloo won best retail bottleshop and The Saint George Hotel in the same suburb was a joint winner for best sporting entertainment venue with Paddington Alehouse in Mount Hawthorn.

AHA WA chief executive Bradley Woods said it had been a challenging year for some in the hospitality industry, but the dedication of owners, managers and staff was unwavering.

“The hotel and hospitality industry supports our state not only at a macro level but right down to the grass roots – where businesses support local communities, the economy and jobs,” he said.

The Mindarie Festival is on this Sunday, November 19 from noon to 5pm with markets, live music and free children’s entertainment.
