FIFO workers have accounted for more than 60 per cent of land sales this year at Atlantis Beach in Two Rocks, demonstrating a growing confidence in the State’s economy, according to the developer.

The latest land sales figures for the estate revealed buyers with at least one purchaser working on Fifo shifts made up 62.5 per cent of sales during the first two months of 2018, compared to last year’s figures where 33 per cent of buyers were Fifo workers.

Atlantis Beach Estate project director Jarrod Rendall said there had been a major jump in Fifo workers buying into the community.

“This confidence has been highlighted by a new report by WA’s peak business group who are predicting an economic comeback in the State, as surging business and consumer confidence combines with jobs growth,” he said.

“The Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s twice-yearly economic outlook predicts that WA is at a positive turning point, with gross state product forecast to grow 0.9 per cent next year and 2 per cent the following year.”

As of September 2017, WA had an estimated $148 billion worth of resource projects in the pipeline.

Mr Rendell said this new business investment across the resources sector gave Fifo workers the confidence to purchase house-and-land packages especially in the more affordable coastal areas of Perth.

“We are finding at Atlantis Beach Estate, Fifo workers are generally buying larger lot sizes from 450sqm upwards with prices starting from just $174,000,” he said.

“In comparison, similar lots in a nearby estate, slightly closer to Perth, are priced from $249,000 to $256,000.

“Buying at Atlantis Beach can represent a saving of more than $70,000 and this huge saving means they can secure a larger lot for them to enjoy the lifestyle they desire.

“Fifo workers have also been very receptive to our current Spend $10K Your Way promotion.

“Once the buyer’s land has settled, the $10,000 will be available for them to spend the money on anything they like.”
