Sailing: sombre tone for Hillarys Yacht Club racing after recent passing of two sailors

John BirdJoondalup Times

IT was a sombre tone at the briefing before racing at Hillarys Yacht Club on Sunday morning following the loss of two sailors from Fremantle Sailing Club.

They had been on a yacht competing in the Fremantle to Bunbury and return race, which started Friday.

The mood was matched by the sedate conditions and in an 8 knot nor-easterly the yachts set sail for the south cardinal marker off Scarborough.
