The Cottesloe resident founded the outdoor design, renovation and construction company in 2009 at the age of 26.

Mr Keats said it started with the simple idea of transforming backyards into ‘fantastic’ living spaces.

Armed with a background in business development, he identified a niche in the market after helping a time-poor relative overhaul an outdoor project gone wrong. The company now employs eight staff and has about $2 million in revenue with a recorded average annual revenue growth of more than 200 per cent.

‘We knew that we were growing fast. It’s been fantastic for the company and the team to be recognised,’ Mr Keats said.

‘It can be a testing journey but it can also be very rewarding. We have a fantastic team of people so everyone has contributed equally.

‘I believe our ability to handle every aspect of an outdoor living project, and to deliver it to a very high standard every time has contributed greatly to our rapid growth.’

‘A big part of my business plan was for Living Environs to deliver outdoor spaces for clients that not only added great value to their lifestyle, but importantly maximised the value their home based on understanding its characteristics.’
