The 65-year-old room service attendant recently notched up 40 years with the company, which is where he met his wife and where his daughter recently got married.

“I was a waiter there and in between did housekeeping and after that I went to Melbourne Hilton, where I worked in the stores.

“I went back to Sydney and that’s where I met my wife, so Hilton is really in my life.”

The couple moved to Perth in 1987 and have a 27-year-old daughter who recently got married at Parmelia Hilton Perth.

The humble employee, who arrives at work at 4am – an hour before his shift officially starts – says “pleasing people” is his calling.

“I’m really happy that I can be part of the Conrad Hilton team,” Mr Galway said.

He is among 40 per cent of Parmelia Hilton employees who have worked at the hotel for more than five years, with more than 1000 years of experience between them.
